There are so many ways you can help! Not only is your financial donation vital but a donation of Bone Marrow could end up saving a child's Life.
Become A Bone Marrow Donor…
On any given day, more than 6,000 men, women and children are searching the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) Registry for a life-saving donor like you. For many of these patients, a transplant may be the best and only hope of a cure. We work to provide hope and deliver a cure to all patients in need. With your support, more patients can access the treatment they so desperately need. Many of them will die unless they get a bone marrow or cord blood transplant from a genetically matched donor. Some people find a match in their family, but 70% do not. These patients depend on the NMDP to help them find an unrelated donor or cord blood unit.
Our Registry has grown to more be the largest and most racially and ethnically diverse Registry of its kind in the world. Medical advances are making marrow and cord blood transplants available to more patients all the time. Since 1987, we have arranged for more than 33,000 transplants to give patients a second chance at life. Today, we facilitate more than 4,300 transplants a year. As a leader in the field of marrow and cord blood transplantation, every day we work to connect patients, doctors, donors and researchers to the resources they need. To help people of every racial and ethnic background live longer, healthier lives, please consider donating. www.marrow.org
Give Blood...
Every 2 seconds someone in the United States needs blood.
But only 5% of the eligible US population donates blood in any given year. Healthy donors are the only source of blood; there is no substitute. Blood is needed for emergencies and for people who have cancer, blood disorders, sickle cell, anemia and other illnesses. Some people need regular blood transfusions to live.
Imagine if giving blood was part of everyone's life. Something you did on a regular basis, like eating at your favorite restaurant. What kind of difference would that make? For nearly 5 million people who receive blood transfusions every year, your donation can make the difference between life and death.
You will be someone's hero - you may give a newborn, a child, a mother or a father, a brother, or a sister another chance at life. In fact, you may help save up to three lives with just one donation. Most people don't think they'll ever need blood, but many do. You will walk a little taller afterwards - you will feel good about yourself.
It's the right thing to do. Consider donating blood at your local Children's Hospital or at www.givelife.org
