EXECUTIVE BIOS

Oliver Wyss, Director and Founder
Oliver Wyss was born and raised in Solothurn, Switzerland. He started his soccer career at age 15 and was selected for the Swiss Youth National Team where he represented his country in over 30 international games. At age 19, Oliver moved to California to play professionally for the LA Salsa and Anaheim Splash. At age 22 he was diagnosed with severe Aplastic Anemia which ended his playing career. After a full recovery in 1998, he founded the Soccer for Hope organization. Oliver currently runs an International Sports Consulting Company and directs a successful youth soccer program. Oliver is married to Jamie and they have 2 children, Abella and Hudson.

Jamie Wyss, Co-Founder
Jamie is the co-founder of Soccer for Hope and handles the administrative tasks. She is a driving force behind Soccer for Hope and her tremendous dedication has greatly contributed to its success. She was the main caregiver for Oliver when he was released from City of Hope and he credits her with his full recovery. Jamie was a professional dancer, taught at Orange County High School of the Arts and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cal State University Long Beach. Jamie is now a full time mother of two and continues to share her passion to help children with life-threatening illnesses!

Ellen Weston, Resource Developer
Ellen has had the chance to get an inside look at Soccer for Hope and is now a believer. She met Oliver when he coached her son's soccer team and her family has been inspired by Oliver's story and passion for giving back by helping children. Ellen volunteers her time and skills gained from her experience in Sales and Marketing in the software industry.
