THE HOPE FOR HUDSON RESEARCH FUND
Updates on Hudson and Abella's Journey...
The Hope for Hudson fund was started after our son was diagnosed with a rare, malignant brain tumor. The proceeds raised will benefit the Pediatric Brain tumor program at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. We have come to realize that the amount of financial giving is far behind more common cancers and the survival rates for all brain tumors are less than 30%. Our goal is to give generously to the Brain Tumor Research Fund and to assist in research and advanced therapies that are used to help these children’s future.
This last December The Hope For Hudson Fund donated its largest single donation ever of $100,000. We are part of making the difference between success and failure in the efforts to develop and conduct innovative laboratory and patient-based research in the treatment of childhood brain tumors. Medical research in general is experiencing shrinking financial support and funding for childhood cancer. Research no longer ranks sufficiently important to merit prioritization of federal support. These cuts will be particularly damaging in childhood brain cancers. These studies are crucial as the burden is not only to show increase in the cure rate with a specific treatment approach, but also preserve normal development and functioning of children with brain cancer!
