Soccer For Hope Advisory Boards

Soccer for Hope is a non-profit organization founded by Oliver Wyss; a former, professional soccer player and survivor of Aplastic Anemia. It has been driven by his goal to give back to the many caretakers who saved his life while raising awareness in the soccer community about the needs of children with life threatening diseases. In 2005, Oliver's young son was diagnosed with a brain tumor. This difficult experience has honed Oliver's vision for Soccer for Hope to include focus on pediatric cancer research. Since its inception in 1998, Soccer for Hope has progressed from an annual local event in Southern California to an explosive charity program reaching thousands of people nation-wide.

Soccer for Hope receives most of its funding through corporate sponsorship and private donations. The participation fees for Camps, Clinics, Inspiration Walks and other fundraisers held throughout the year also contribute to our organization. During these events the kids have an opportunity to learn soccer from skilled professionals who share our commitment to helping children. The kids are also are made aware of the challenges that less fortunate children face and leave with the knowledge that they are truly making a difference. Soccer for Hope provides so many ways to give back to the community through soccer related activities which benefits everyone involved. We all come away from these events a better person and with a heightened appreciation of their own gift of health. Soccer is the fastest growing sport in the US and touches more young people's lives than any other sport. It is the perfect vehicle to bring HOPE to our children.
